It is a moment of deep sorrow for Rajasthan's Didwana-Kuchaman district. Khemaram Kumawat, a young Agniveer from Panchota village in the Nawan area, has laid down his life in the service of the nation, killed in an aircraft crash in Assam. As word of his martyrdom spread through the region, grief swept across every household and left countless eyes brimming with tears.
How the Crash Happened
According to the information available, the tragedy unfolded at the Jorhat airbase in Assam when an Indian Air Force AN-32 transport aircraft was preparing to land. The plane met with disaster during the landing itself. The impact was so severe that the aircraft burst into flames the moment it touched down on the runway and split into two pieces. Five service personnel, including the pilot, died on the spot in the violent crash — and among them was Rajasthan's brave son, Khemaram Kumawat.
A Village Plunged Into Silence, a Family Shattered
When the heartbreaking news reached Khemaram's ancestral village of Panchota, the entire community was left stunned. So heavy was the grief that not even the cooking hearths were lit in people's homes. The moment the family learned that their son had been martyred, it felt as though a mountain of sorrow had collapsed upon them. His parents and relatives are inconsolable, weeping uncontrollably. Neighbours from surrounding villages and acquaintances are arriving at the home to console the bereaved family, yet there is no easy way to heal a wound this deep.
The Land of Warriors Makes Another Sacrifice
The Nawan and Didwana-Kuchaman region has always been a land of the brave. The youth here carry a deep-rooted passion for guarding the nation's borders. Khemaram Kumawat too had nurtured a dream of serving his motherland in uniform, and in fulfilling that dream he made the ultimate sacrifice. While his martyrdom has shaken everyone to the core, the village also takes pride in the supreme sacrifice of its son. From social media to the village square, everyone is paying tribute to the fallen hero with tearful eyes.
Air Force Orders an Inquiry
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has expressed profound grief over the serious accident. According to senior officials, a Court of Inquiry — a high-level investigation — has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the crash, whether it was a technical fault or some other reason. The mortal remains of the martyred Khemaram will be brought to his ancestral village with military honours, where his last rites will be performed with full state and military honours.
