After receiving the award, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the people and the government of Slovakia, and dedicated the recognition to the deep friendship shared by the two nations. Posting on the social media platform 'X', he wrote, ”आज शाम ब्रातिस्लावा में द ऑर्डर ऑफ द व्हाइट डबल क्रॉस (फर्स्ट क्लास) पाकर सम्मानित महसूस कर रहा हूं. इस सम्मान के लिए स्लोवाकिया के लोगों और सरकार का मैं शुक्रगुजार हूं, जो भारत के 140 करोड़ लोगों का है. मैं यह अवॉर्ड भारत और स्लोवाकिया के बीच हमेशा रहने वाली दोस्ती को समर्पित करता हूं.”
What This Honour Stands For
The 'Order of the White Double Cross (First Class)' is Slovakia's highest civilian and military state honour. What makes it notable is that it is reserved specifically for foreign nationals. PM Modi arrived in Bratislava as part of a week-long Europe tour, and it is on this trip that an Indian Prime Minister has set foot in Slovakia for the very first time.
Key Talks With President Pellegrini
The visit also saw PM Modi hold detailed discussions with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini on a range of important subjects. Sharing the details on 'X', he wrote, ”सोमवार को राष्ट्रपति पेलेग्रिनी के साथ हुई बातचीत में विनिर्माण, परिवहन, नवाचार और निवेश संबंधों, ऊर्जा, जैव ईंधन आदि जैसे विविध विषयों पर चर्चा हुई. डिजिटल प्रौद्योगिकी के क्षेत्र में सहयोग की अपार संभावनाएं हैं. हमने जन-जन संबंधों को मजबूत करने पर भी बात की.”

Carrying the visit forward on the economic front, the Prime Minister met Slovak business leaders and invited them to invest in India. Referring to the meeting, he wrote on 'X', “सोमवार दोपहर ब्रातिस्लावा में प्रधानमंत्री रॉबर्ट फित्सो ने स्लोवाकिया के शीर्ष बिजनेस लीडर्स के साथ एक बैठक की मेजबानी की. हमने आर्थिक संबंधों को मजबूत करने, निवेश प्रवाह बढ़ाने और नवाचार, प्रौद्योगिकी, विनिर्माण और अन्य क्षेत्रों में सहयोग का विस्तार करने पर सार्थक चर्चा की. मैंने भारत की सुधार यात्रा और देश द्वारा प्रदत्त बढ़ते अवसरों पर प्रकाश डाला और स्लोवाकिया की कंपनियों को भारत के साथ अपनी साझेदारी को और गहरा करने के लिए आमंत्रित किया.”
