The price hike is strictly confined to postpaid subscribers, leaving the vast base of prepaid mobile connections completely unaffected without any adjustments to existing talktime or data rates. Alongside this fee enhancement, the company is packaging an added premium travel benefit to cushion the price revision for its subscriber base.
Annual Complimentary Overseas Roaming
Under the revised structure, Airtel postpaid subscribers will receive one free international roaming travel trip every year. Company officials have indicated that this bundled overseas roaming benefit carries an standalone retail value of Rs 2,000. For existing postpaid users, migration to the immediate higher tier corresponding to their existing package will be executed within a one-month transition window following the rollout on October 8, 2026.
Pack Specifications and Five-Day Validity
The complimentary international roaming pack will carry an active validity of five days, targeted at short overseas trips. Within this five-day window, subscribers are allotted 5 GB of mobile data, 60 minutes of voice calling, 25 outgoing SMS text messages, and completely free incoming SMS. This inclusion ensures that international travelers can keep their primary Indian mobile connection operational abroad without procuring separate international add-on passes.
Flexible Activation Across Family Add-Ons
Subscribers maintain the flexibility to trigger and activate the overseas roaming pack whenever they schedule their foreign travel. In multi-connection family postpaid setups, every enrolled member under the shared billing plan will be independently eligible to claim this annual complimentary roaming benefit during their respective journeys.
