With the auspicious festival of Karva Chauth drawing closer, many women often wonder whether purchasing bridal items and makeup essentials is appropriate while Venus remains in a combust state. Astrological experts clarify that the combustion of Venus does not cast any negative shadow on this occasion or its associated shopping traditions. Married women can confidently proceed with purchasing all their suhag materials and festive items without harboring any doubts or confusion in their minds.
Understanding the Combustion of Venus
According to Vedic astrology principles, whenever any celestial planet gets positioned extremely close to the sun, it enters a combust phase. During this period, the overall influence of that specific planet tends to become relatively weak. At the present time, Venus is positioned very close to the sun and is therefore combust. Nevertheless, astrology regards Venus as an inherently auspicious planet, meaning that even in its combust state, it does not exert intensely harmful or negative effects.
The Core Significance of Karva Chauth
According to Pandit Narendra Upadhyay, the festival of Karva Chauth is primarily dedicated to the devoted worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. During this fast, observing the exact position of the moon is considered absolutely mandatory since the ritual concludes only after sighting the moon. This specific festival has no direct connection whatsoever with the planet Venus. Because Venus is entirely unrelated to the observance of Karva Chauth, there are no restrictions or obstacles whatsoever when it comes to shopping or acquiring traditional bridal items.
Karva Chauth Date and Moonrise Timing in 2026
This year, the sacred festival of Karva Chauth will be celebrated on Thursday, October 29, 2026. On this day, married women observe a strict dawn-to-dusk fast for the longevity and well-being of their husbands, breaking it only after offering prayers to the moon. The moon is expected to become visible around 07:55 PM on this night. However, individuals should keep in mind that the exact timing of moonrise might vary slightly across different cities and geographical locations.
