High-stakes box office clashes often generate immense buzz in the film industry, and early 2027 is shaping up to deliver one of the biggest theatrical face-offs. Speculation had been rife that the makers of Prabhas' upcoming film might push back its theatrical arrival to avoid colliding with Bollywood star Salman Khan's next project. However, production banner T-Series has issued an official clarification putting all rumors to rest, confirming that Spirit will arrive in theaters on March 5, 2027, exactly as planned.
T-Series Clarifies Release Schedule for Spirit
Addressing the postponement claims, a spokesperson for T-Series officially dismissed reports of any delay. The spokesperson stated, "Spirit will hit theaters on its scheduled date, March 5, 2027. There has been no change whatsoever." The representative added that production work is progressing strictly in line with the predetermined timeline. This is not the first time the team had to counter such reports; earlier in May, when similar rumors surfaced, T-Series had issued a comparable statement confirming the release schedule.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga Teams Up with Prabhas
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for helming major hits like Kabir Singh and Animal, Spirit marks his first collaboration with star Prabhas. The project has sparked widespread excitement among cinema enthusiasts. The cast has also drawn significant attention following key casting changes. While initial reports indicated Deepika Padukone was considered for the lead female role, talks did not materialize, leading to Trupti Dimri joining the cast. This film marks Trupti Dimri's debut in Telugu cinema. The ensemble cast further features seasoned actors including Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj, and Kanchana.
First-Look Poster Fuelled Fan Anticipation
Unveiled on New Year 2026, the initial poster of Spirit created a massive stir across social media platforms. The poster presented a gritty avatar of Prabhas, showcasing his wounded back wrapped in bandages while Trupti Dimri calmly lit his cigarette. This stark visual style significantly elevated audience curiosity regarding the storyline and Prabhas' character arc in the film.
The Eid 2027 Box Office Showdown
On the other side of the clash, Salman Khan officially announced his new movie project SVC63 in April this year. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally and co-starring Nayanthara, SVC63 is scheduled for release around Eid 2027. With Spirit locking in its March 5, 2027 release window, both high-profile movies are poised to compete closely for audience attention and screen count during the festive period.
