Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) has integrated its postgraduate curriculum with the Government of India's SWAYAM digital learning platform for the first time. As part of the July-December 2026 academic session, the university has introduced four new online PG courses across distinct departments. Prospective postgraduate students looking to enroll in these programs can complete their registration on the official SWAYAM portal before the August 31 deadline.
Department-Wise Courses and Appointed Nodal Coordinators
The newly launched programs span four major academic departments within the university. The Department of Chemistry is offering a course titled 'Advances in Instrumentation and Chemical Data Analysis', with Dr. Moni Sharma designated as the nodal coordinator. In the Department of Physics, students can enroll in 'Indian Knowledge System: Concepts and Application in Engineering', coordinated by Dr. Deepak Kumar.
Additionally, the Department of Geography has introduced 'Disaster Risk Reduction and Management' under the supervision of nodal coordinator Dr. Rashmi Shikha. To foster business management and startup skills, the Department of Commerce has launched an 'Entrepreneurship' course, led by nodal coordinator Dr. Nirmala Kushwaha.
Academic Credit Transfers and Access to Top-Tier Content
Highlighting the benefits of this digital integration, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Kumar Choudhary stated that LNMU students will gain direct access to high-quality educational content curated by premier educators across the nation. The flexible structure enables learners to study at their own pace. Furthermore, the platform incorporates the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) mechanism, allowing seamless transfer of academic credits earned during the course.
Alignment With NEP 2020 and Career Enhancements
IQAC Director Dr. Md. Zia Haider noted that integrating SWAYAM courses expands academic flexibility and elevates postgraduate education standards at the university. This initiative aligns institutional learning processes with the objectives set out under the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). University authorities emphasize that students across Mithila region can now access curriculum from top-ranking Indian institutions without incurring extra financial costs, significantly broadening their employment and research prospects.
