Karanbir Singh set a massive benchmark last year in 2025 by scoring 1488 runs in 32 matches, a record for the most T20 International runs in a single calendar year. Prior to Kishan, only two Indian players had ever crossed 800 runs in a calendar year. Suryakumar Yadav set the national benchmark in 2022 by smashing 1164 runs in 31 T20 International matches, a record that remains unbroken by any other Indian. Subsequently, Abhishek Sharma scored 859 runs in 21 T20 International matches during 2025. Kishan has now added his name to this esteemed list with his tally of 812 runs.

Kishan now has a realistic chance to overtake Abhishek Sharma and secure the second spot in this domestic list.
