Domestic Background and Early Career of Subhadeep Ghosh
Born in Digboi, Assam on November 13, 1968, Subhadeep Ghosh brings years of playing and coaching experience to the setup. During his active playing days, he featured in 17 first-class matches and 17 List A fixtures, representing Assam and Railways as a right-handed batsman and off-break bowler. Affectionately known as Joy among his peers, he later transitioned into coaching, where he has worked extensively with the India Under-19 setup. He has also gained valuable franchise experience by working with Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight-Riders in the Indian Premier League.
Extensive Coaching Stints with India A and Women Squads
Ghosh is by no means a stranger to the upper echelons of Indian cricket administration. Back in 2024, when a second-string men squad toured South Africa under the supervision of VVS Laxman, Ghosh was entrusted with the fielding coach responsibilities for that white-ball series. Furthermore, he has spent considerable time nurturing talent within the women division. He traveled as the fielding coach for the India women team during their tour of Australia in 2021. When cricket made its debut at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in 2023, he was once again part of the traveling contingent as the fielding coach for the women team.
