Superstar Rajinikanth continues to command an unmatched presence in cinema halls, with his latest theatrical venture setting exceptional new benchmarks at the box office. The blistering momentum that the movie gathered right from its opening day has carried forward seamlessly into its second week. This consistent financial surge at ticket counters clearly demonstrates the massive appeal this action thriller holds among diverse audiences worldwide.
Strong Boost From Festive Holidays
The stellar financial success of this cinematic release has been significantly aided by the strategic window of Navratri and Dussehra holidays, which drew massive crowds to theaters. Capitalizing on these festive breaks, the film successfully crossed the magical milestone of 600 crores at the global box office within its very first week. Maintaining its strong grip on ticket counters even by the ninth day, the film posted solid figures as it entered its second week. On Friday alone, the movie accumulated a net collection of 14.50 crores across India. A total of 10,484 shows were operated nationwide for the film on this single day.
Language Wise Collection And Screen Distribution
The feature film received varied yet impressive responses across multiple language versions, with the Tamil version continuing its absolute dominance. In the Tamil language, the film raked in 9.35 crores through 4,885 dedicated shows. Telugu-speaking regions also showed solid engagement, generating 3.00 crores via 1,787 shows. Meanwhile, the Hindi version was allocated 3,624 shows across the country, pulling in 1.75 crores in collections. The Kannada version contributed an additional 40 lakhs from its 188 shows.
Comprehensive Global And Domestic Figures
Following nine days of theatrical business, the film's gross collection at the domestic Indian box office stands at an impressive 408.55 crores. Looking specifically at the domestic net collection, the figure reaches 348.85 crores. On the overseas front, the international box office generated a robust 219.50 crores. Combining these domestic and international earnings, the total worldwide collection of the movie has now reached a massive 628.05 crores.
Surpassing Major Stardom Milestones
The solid business registered on the second Friday officially places the movie among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Thalaiva's cinematic outing has successfully broken lifetime records previously held by major superstars including Salman Khan, Prabhas, and Vijay. With these numbers, the feature film comfortably secures its position inside the top 20 highest-grossing films list globally.
Beaming Past Sultan And Salaar
Accumulating a stellar collection of 628.05 crores, the movie has comfortably surpassed the lifetime earnings of Salman Khan's hit film Sultan. Released roughly a decade ago, the Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer had achieved a lifetime collection of 623 crores. Furthermore, the movie went past the box office numbers of Prabhas's action drama Salaar, which had grossed 617 crores. Last year's release Saiyaara had registered a collection of 578 crores, which has also been left behind. Within merely nine days, the film has emerged as one of the fastest-rising blockbusters in modern cinema history.
Outperforming its predecessor Jailer, this sequel has scripted a fresh chapter of commercial success. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the movie now proudly stands as the second highest-grossing film in the history of Tamil cinema. During this record-breaking run, it also surpassed the lifetime collection of superstar Vijay's movie Leo, which had grossed 605 crores during its theatrical run.
