A fresh collaboration in the entertainment industry has brought together actress Mallika Sherawat and versatile actor Sunil Grover for an upcoming crime thriller series. The plot is set against the backdrop of the lesser-known underworld, diving deep into a dark and hidden domain that remains largely unexplored by the mainstream audience. While the official title of the project is yet to be announced, production has already kicked off, and filming is currently underway.
A Fresh Persona for the Lead Actors
According to industry insiders, Mallika Sherawat will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar, showcasing a completely different side of her acting capabilities. Meanwhile, Sunil Grover is set to step away from his signature comedic style to portray a serious and dark character. Given how he has been consistently surprising audiences with his intense dramatic performances in recent times, this gritty new role is anticipated to be a major highlight of the show.
OTT and Digital Track Record
Mallika Sherawat made her digital debut back in 2019 with the horror-comedy series Boo Sabki Phategi, followed by her appearance in the 2021 web series Naqab, and most recently participated as a contestant in the second season of The Traitors India. On the other hand, Sunil Grover, who became a household name through comedy television, has been deliberately choosing unconventional parts. He delivered a restrained and intense performance in the political drama series Tandav, led the dark-comedy series Sunflower, and has showcased his talent in major films including Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Blackout.
At the Helm of Direction
The direction of this untitled crime thriller series has been entrusted to Himank Gaur, who has earned a strong reputation for helming successful digital projects. He is widely recognized for directing the popular web series Dhindhora and both seasons of Taaza Khabar. In addition to these hits, Himank Gaur has also directed other notable projects such as Lukkhe and Adarsh Bal Vidyalaya, bringing a proven track record of storytelling to this new venture.
