An imaginative on-screen setting is moving into the physical world as National Award-winning actor Vikrant Massey expands the universe of his project Musafir Cafe into the mountains. Construction is now underway to establish two genuine hospitality spaces named Musafir Cafe across the scenic landscapes of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This initiative represents an off-screen continuation of the creative journey, with Massey remaining deeply involved not just as the lead performer but also through his production company Homemade Stories.
Authentic Screen Design With 20 Dedicated Residency Rooms
Development work has officially begun across both chosen hill sites, with one location situated in Himachal Pradesh and the second rising in Uttarakhand. The design philosophy of these establishments mirrors the aesthetic and structural layout seen inside the original show, recreating that distinct visual feel for visitors. A key element of this venture includes the addition of roughly 20 rooms specifically intended to accommodate visiting artists. Through this setup, the creative environment originally conceived for television is being translated directly into a functional real-world retreat.
Emotional Resonance Rooted in the Character of Chander
The inspiration behind this real-world adaptation stems directly from Massey's experience playing the central protagonist Chander. Within the narrative, Chander relocates to the mountains to chase his ambitions, establishing a life centered around a cafe that anchors his personal and professional evolution. The venue functioned as the emotional heartbeat and primary anchor for Chander's path throughout the series. That meaningful fictional backdrop is now providing the blueprint for actual physical destinations nestled in the hills.
A Collaborative Haven for the Global Creative Community
Both destinations are being shaped to capture the relaxed spirit and emotional warmth that defined Musafir Cafe on screen. Beyond serving as conventional food and beverage spaces, the planned artist residency areas will offer creators from around the globe a tranquil sanctuary where they can live, write, paint, and produce new creative work. As on-site construction advances, the twin properties are expected to boost regional hospitality across both hill states while serving as an inspiring hub that brings diverse creative communities together.
