In Gohana, Sonipat, Haryana, two youths brutally killed their close friend over suspicion of stealing 18000 rupees. Gohana Crime Unit has arrested both accused following an investigation into the missing youth.

A shocking crime has come to light from the Gohana area of Sonipat district in Haryana, where two individuals brutally murdered their close friend over suspicion of money theft. Dholu alias Vicky, a resident of Indragarh village, had been missing under suspicious circumstances since 5 August. The Gohana Crime Unit resolved the case by arresting the two accused individuals involved in the crime. During police interrogation, the accused confessed to cutting their friend's throat using a vegetable-cutting knife bought for just 10 rupees.

Unraveling the Murder Through Missing Person Complaint

The investigation gained momentum when Sanjay, the uncle of the missing youth Dholu alias Vicky, lodged a formal police complaint on 1 September. Sanjay informed the police that his nephew was missing from home and expressed strong suspicion that Dholu's friends, Vikram and Pritam, were behind his kidnapping. Based on the family's suspicion, the Gohana Crime Unit launched a detailed probe and picked up the suspects for questioning, which eventually unraveled the murder plot.

According to ACP Crime Rajpal, Dholu alias Vicky, Vikram, and Pritam shared a close friendship. About 30 to 40 days prior to the incident, the three friends had hired a taxi and traveled together to Haridwar. During their stay in Haridwar, an amount of 18000 rupees belonging to Pritam went missing. Approximately one week after returning from Haridwar, Pritam and Vikram began suspecting Dholu of stealing the money and planned to confront him.

Lured with Party Offer and Killed in Car

The two accused lured Dholu into a car under the pretext of holding a party. Once inside the vehicle, they began interrogating him about the missing 18000 rupees. When Dholu denied taking the money, the accused used a vegetable-cutting knife purchased for 10 rupees to slit his throat. Following the murder, they hid the body beneath a culvert in a nearby drain near Gohana and fled the scene.

Recovery of Body and Court Remand Proceedings

Following the disclosure by the accused, police recovered Dholu alias Vicky's body from under the culvert based on their identification. The arrested accused have been identified as Vikram, a resident of Rukhi village, and Pritam, a resident of Bhatgaon. The Gohana Crime Unit has taken both accused into custody and will produce them in court to seek police remand for further in-depth investigation.
