As the festival of Diwali draws closer in Faridabad, people working in other cities have started heading back home to be with their families. With holidays declared across various companies and offices, commuters have begun flocking toward their native towns and villages, resulting in a noticeable surge of crowds at the Ballabgarh bus stand. A particularly high number of travelers are heading toward Agra and Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. To ensure that commuters do not have to wait endlessly for buses and can reach their homes comfortably, the transport department has ramped up operations by increasing bus frequencies on these routes.
Additional Buses Deployed on Agra and Aligarh Routes
Earlier, a total of eight buses were operating from the Ballabgarh bus stand toward Agra. In view of the rising passenger numbers, three more buses have been added to this route, taking the total count to 11 buses running for Agra. Similarly, arrangements for Aligarh have been significantly expanded. While 10 buses were previously operational for Aligarh, eight additional buses have now been introduced. This brings the total fleet serving the Aligarh route to 18 buses, providing much-needed relief to daily commuters and festive travelers alike.
Anticipated Rush During Upcoming Chhath Festival
Transport authorities noted that following the ongoing Diwali celebrations, the Chhath festival is also lined up shortly. Consequently, passenger footfall at the bus terminal is expected to climb even further in the coming days. The roadways department is keeping a close watch on passenger volume across all counters. Buses will be deployed dynamically on routes experiencing heavier crowds to match the demand. The core objective of the administration is to ensure that no passenger is stranded or distressed while waiting for transport, allowing everyone to reach their destinations safely.
Fare Structure and Concession Guidelines
Passengers traveling from Ballabgarh to Agra are required to pay a fare of 231 rupees. Meanwhile, those commuting from Ballabgarh to Aligarh will need to pay 140 rupees. Additionally, senior citizens and eligible individuals entitled to fare concessions under government schemes are being extended benefits in line with established norms. To avail of these discounts, passengers must present their Aadhaar card or the relevant Happy card during ticket checks. All concessions are strictly regulated according to government eligibility criteria.
Standby Buses Ready for Higher Footfall
Ensuring smooth and hassle-free transit for travelers during the festive season remains a top priority for the roadways department. Officials stated that if passenger crowds swell further, additional standby buses will be immediately deployed as required. The overarching goal is to enable everyone to celebrate Diwali and Chhath with their loved ones without facing any logistical hurdles.
