A severe road accident on the Chandigarh Manali National Highway claimed two lives late Tuesday night when a scooter collided head-on with a private bus near Dohlunala in Kullu district. The victims, a young man and a young woman from Mandi district, were traveling toward Manali when the crash took place at around 9:45 PM.
Details of the Fatal Highway Collision
According to official details, the two occupants were riding a scooter heading toward Manali when a private bus coming from the opposite direction hit their vehicle near Dohlunala. The force of the impact was extremely severe, leaving both individuals critically injured on the road.
The scooter driver, identified as Kashish from Sihli village in Sundernagar tehsil of Mandi district, died on the spot due to the intense impact of the collision. The pillion rider, Aditya, son of Pawan Kumar and a resident of Triphalghat in Mandi district, sustained life-threatening injuries. He was immediately rushed to the Regional Hospital in Kullu, where he succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment.
Police Investigation and Action
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team promptly arrived at the accident site to inspect the area and assess the situation. Officers took custody of both bodies for legal procedures and post-mortem examinations. Authorities have formally registered a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the crash and launched a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances and cause of the collision.
