A severe political controversy has flared up following remarks made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's family during a gathering in Patna. The incident took place when an attendee in the audience raised a slogan supporting the Prime Minister, prompting the Congress leader to deliver a heated retort from the podium. The sharp exchange and subsequent altercation have led to heavy criticism from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party leadership and the filing of a police complaint.
Commotion at the Patna Gathering
The incident unfolded on Sunday, 25 October, during a Congress public event in Patna where party chief Mallikarjun Kharge was addressing workers. As Kharge spoke on the political landscape and alleged upcoming shifts in power, a young man from the audience interrupted the speech by stating that Narendra Modi would not be leaving power. Agitated by the disruption, the Congress president reacted angrily from the microphone, making contentious remarks referencing the Prime Minister's father.
The statement instantly ignited uproar across the venue. Enraged party supporters pounced upon the individual who had registered his dissent, thrashing him on the premises before security personnel and local organizers stepped in to defuse the situation. The scuffle caused significant disruption inside the venue, and footage of both the speech and the subsequent assault quickly spread widely.
Rajnath Singh Expresses Anguish
Responding to the development, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh posted a strong rebuttal on the social media platform X. He stated that he was deeply shocked and pained by the remarks directed at the revered father of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the Congress president during the Patna assembly.
Rajnath Singh observed that Congress leaders and party workers had repeatedly made fun of the Prime Minister's humble origins in the past. He pointed out that personal attacks had previously been targeted at the Prime Minister's late mother as well. Emphasizing decency in political discourse, the Defence Minister stated that while ideological and electoral contests are natural in a democracy, dragging someone's parents and private family into partisan attacks violates the core decorum of public life.
Escalating Political Feud and Police Action
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also mounted a sharp attack on the opposition party, asserting that under Rahul Gandhi's stewardship, indecent and offensive language has become a routine affair within the Congress. Shah maintained that the citizens of the country would not tolerate such disgraceful rhetoric aimed at the Prime Minister.
The issue has also reached law enforcement authorities in Bihar. A Bharatiya Janata Party leader submitted a formal complaint against Mallikarjun Kharge at the Kotwali police station in Patna. The complaint seeks legal action against the Congress chief for using derogatory, inflammatory, and unparliamentary language against the head of government from a public platform.
About Bacteria
Bacteria, commonly referred to as microscopic unicellular organisms, exist virtually everywhere across planet Earth. These simple, single-celled life forms possessing cell walls are found in soil, water bodies, hot acidic streams, the crust of the earth, and inside animal and plant bodies. An ordinary single gram of soil typically hosts approximately 40 million bacterial cells, while a milliliter of freshwater carries around 10 lakh of them. Their microscopic dimensions span mere fractions of a millimeter, exhibiting distinct spherical, rod-like, or spiral configurations.
Public Reaction
The altercation in Patna and the subsequent political exchanges generated immense traction across online platforms. A large segment of citizens criticized the deteriorating standards of political discourse and the targeting of family members, while others questioned past rhetoric across party lines and urged public figures to maintain decency.
