Why Akanksha Had To Ask For Financial Help
Akanksha Chaudhary recalled that preparing for the pageant, covering costs like outfits and training fees, required nearly 1-2 lakh rupees, an amount her family could not afford. Struggling with this financial crunch, she reached out to a well known figure from the pageant industry whom she had known for years, since he had previously served as a judge at several pageants. According to her, this person was known for financially helping emerging contestants, which is why she was confident he would support her. She proposed that if he helped her for a few months, she would in return work for him as an employee. Akanksha claimed the man agreed to the arrangement and invited her to his home. Since she had visited his house before, she did not think twice before going there again.
Akanksha Recounts Her Casting Couch Ordeal
Akanksha said that when she reached the man's house, he first tried to get close under the pretext of hugging her and held on to her. Given his age, she managed to free herself, saying,
'I grabbed his hand and yanked it away.'She alleged that he then bluntly told her that in exchange for the money he was giving her, she would have to sleep with him, and reportedly laid out a demand of meeting 5-6 times a month. Akanksha said that about six months after the incident she became part of a big show, and within a year she found herself standing on one of the industry's biggest platforms.
