Serving as the anchor of the squad, Jyothi Surekha Vennam brought immense pedigree and calm assurance under championship pressure. Born on July 3, 1996, in Challapalli, Andhra Pradesh, Jyothi initially competed as a competitive swimmer at the national circuit before turning her attention to archery. Grasping the technical nuances of the compound bow at an early age, she methodically developed her game to rank among the world's finest compound archers.
Her international portfolio is glittering with multiple titles across the World Championships, World Cups, Asian Games, and Asian Championships. At the Hangzhou Asian Games held in 2022, Jyothi etched her name into the record books as the first Indian archer to secure a golden treble in a single edition, sweeping the women's individual, women's team, and mixed team competitions. Her dedicated service to Indian sports was formally recognised in 2017 when she received the prestigious Arjuna Award.
Prithika Pradeep Emerges as a Teenage Prodigy
Adding dynamic youthful energy to the roster is Maharashtra's 18-year-old talent Prithika Pradeep. Born on September 27, 2008, Prithika began shooting arrows as a fifth-grade student purely as an after-school recreation. Her natural alignment and steady concentration quickly turned that recreational pastime into a dedicated sporting ambition.
Her rapid ascent through domestic ranks earned her a call-up to the senior Indian women's compound squad in 2025. Despite being in the early phase of her senior career, she has already accumulated seven international medals. In the title clash against China, Prithika demonstrated remarkable poise, delivering clutch arrows that kept India firmly ahead in the scoring ledger.
Taniparthi Chikitha Scales New Heights from Humble Roots
Rounding out the triumvirate is 21-year-old Taniparthi Chikitha, whose journey embodies resilience and discipline. Hailing from a farming household in Telangana, Chikitha was born in 2005 and took up the sport during second grade under the tutelage and encouragement of her father. What started as an introductory activity soon evolved into an unyielding professional drive.
Chikitha transitioned to competitive professional archery in 2021 and successfully broke into the senior national squad by 2025. Her career achieved a breakout milestone in 2025 when she captured the individual under-21 world title at the World Archery Youth Championships. Possessing multiple international podium finishes, Chikitha continued her sterling run in Aichi-Nagoya by qualifying for the mixed compound final alongside her team gold medal achievement.
