In their crucial final pool fixture on 20 August, the Indian team held a determined England side to a 0-0 draw. With this result, India finished second in Pool D with 5 points to advance to the next round, while China topped the group after securing two wins and one draw.

Having qualified for Round 8, the Indian women's hockey team has been placed in Pool E alongside co-hosts Netherlands, Australia, and China. In this phase, India will face the Netherlands and Australia, as their group stage result against China carries over.
India's first challenge in Round 8 comes on 21 August when they take on hosts Netherlands in a high-stakes encounter. The team will then feature against Australia on 23 August. Both fixtures are vital as India aims to push for a spot in the World Cup semifinals.
