In a major financial boost aimed at grassroots female entrepreneurship and financial independence, the Tamil Nadu government has scheduled a large distribution drive in Erode district. Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay will visit Perundurai on Tuesday to disburse 1,100 crore rupees worth of welfare assistance, including structured bank loans, to members belonging to women self-help groups. Around 5,000 beneficiaries are slated to directly receive financial backing during this event, which also serves as a platform to inaugurate multiple completed development initiatives across the district.
Venue Shift and Ground Preparations
The outreach gathering was originally scheduled to take place on the campus of a private engineering college in Perundurai. However, administrative planning prompted a relocation to Sri Lakshmi Narayana Marriage Hall situated near the Kanchikovil area. Anticipating a massive turnout comprising beneficiaries, party functionaries, and local residents, district authorities have overhauled on-ground arrangements to accommodate the crowd seamlessly.
Inspection by Cabinet Ministers and District Officials
A high-level inspection team led by Revenue Minister KA Sengottaiyan and Handlooms Minister M Vijayabalaji reviewed the final venue arrangements on Monday. They were joined on the ground by Erode District Collector S Kandasamy and Superintendent of Police Kiran Shruthi. Elected representatives including Erode West MLA Ananth Mohan, Modakkurichi MLA Shanmugam, and former Perundurai legislator Jayakumar also participated in the comprehensive review.
Speaking to journalists after assessing the hall and stage facilities, Revenue Minister KA Sengottaiyan noted,
The Chief Minister will distribute financial assistance under various welfare schemes. He emphasized that connecting women to institutional credit forms a core strategy to scale up their independent income-generating ventures.
Travel Blueprint and Security Deployment
According to the official itinerary, Chief Minister Vijay will fly out from Chennai on Tuesday morning to land at Coimbatore airport, before continuing his forward journey to Perundurai by road. Administrative transit blueprints show that the motorcade will move through the Vijayamangalam toll plaza, the Sipcot entry gate, Perundurai new bus stand, old bus stand, Kunnathur Four Roads, and the Anna statue landmark before reaching the hall.
Extensive crowd management and security cordons have been established across the route. Sturdy iron barricades have been installed along major arterial roadways to keep movement organized while allowing residents to welcome the Chief Minister. Extensive police deployment across key junctions will oversee traffic diversion and public safety, ensuring that both the financial distribution and the project unveilings proceed without disruption.
