Bajaj Auto has kicked off the new financial year with a strong show on the sales counter, posting a 28% jump in total vehicle dispatches for June 2026. The company sold 4,63,202 units during the month, sharply higher than the 3,60,806 units it had sold in June last year, with exports doing the heavy lifting in this growth story.

Domestic Sales Show Steady Momentum

On home turf, Bajaj Auto dispatched 2,09,837 vehicles in June 2026, an 11% rise over the same month a year earlier. The numbers point to continued appetite for the company's two-wheelers and commercial vehicles in the Indian market, even as growth here trails the pace seen overseas.

Exports Surge Past Domestic Growth

The standout number for the month came from overseas shipments. Bajaj Auto exported 2,53,365 vehicles in June 2026, a 47% increase over the year-ago period. A strong global distribution network and rising demand in foreign markets are being cited as the key reasons behind this sharp export growth.

Two-Wheelers Lead the Charge

Within the two-wheeler segment alone, Bajaj Auto sold 3,89,395 motorcycles and scooters in June, marking a 30% year-on-year increase. Of this, 1,66,956 units were sold in the domestic market while exports climbed to 2,22,439 units. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 12%, while two-wheeler exports jumped 49% during the month.

Commercial Vehicles Also Post Gains

The company's commercial vehicle business held up well too. Bajaj Auto sold 73,807 commercial vehicles in June 2026, up 18% from a year earlier, indicating healthy demand across nearly all of the company's major vehicle categories.

First Quarter Numbers Paint a Bigger Picture

Zooming out to the first quarter of financial year 2026-27 (April-June), Bajaj Auto's total sales stood at 14,38,251 units, up 29% compared to the same period last year. Domestic sales during the quarter rose 11% to 7,06,078 units, while exports leapt 54% to reach 7,32,173 units. Taken together, the June and first-quarter figures show Bajaj Auto strengthening its position both in the domestic market and in international markets at a fast pace.

What this means for you

This sales growth is a positive signal for Bajaj Auto's investors and those tied to the auto sector.

  • For investors: A 28-29% sales jump in June and the first quarter could positively influence Bajaj Auto's business performance.
  • For the auto sector: The 47-54% surge in exports shows Indian two-wheelers and commercial vehicles gaining faster ground in foreign markets, which could also benefit dealers and suppliers linked to the company.
