A major political development has unfolded in Bihar, resulting in Mokama MLA Anant Singh being expelled from the Janata Dal (United) for a duration of six years. The party has not only stripped him of his primary membership but has also formally recommended the cancellation of his assembly membership. This strict disciplinary action has extended to his family as well, with the party expelling Neelam Devi from its ranks for six years.
Accusations of Anti-Party Activities and Legislative Council Election Sabotage
The party detailed the reasons for this major decision through a post on its official X handle. Citing instructions from state unit president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, the announcement stated that Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh was involved in continuous anti-party activities. He was accused of flouting party guidelines and actively campaigning in favor of the opposition during the recently concluded Legislative Council elections, alongside working directly against the official candidate fielded by the party.
Recommendation to Revoke Assembly Membership
Based on these serious infractions, the party revoked his primary membership with immediate effect. Furthermore, following appropriate provisions, a formal recommendation has been dispatched to the assembly speaker to cancel his legislative assembly membership. This decisive step by the ruling organization has created significant ripples across the regional political landscape.
Action Taken Against Neelam Devi
The disciplinary fallout has also impacted other family members associated with the political figure. Former assembly member Neelam Devi was found to be engaging in activities detrimental to the organization's interests. Consequently, her primary membership was also terminated, and she faces a six-year expulsion from the party. The directives issued by the leadership have been implemented with immediate effect, signaling a zero-tolerance policy toward internal dissent.
