In Jodhaa Akbar, a film built around a historical love story, Hrithik Roshan played the Mughal emperor Akbar, while Aishwarya Rai played the Rajput princess Jodhaa. A. R. Rahman composed the film's music, which received widespread praise, and critics also appreciated the story and the performances. Guzaarish marked their last film together, and they never returned
Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai were last seen together in the 2010 film Guzaarish, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The emotional drama told the story of a man who becomes completely paralysed and, unable to bear his pain and loneliness, pleads for the right to die. Hrithik Roshan played this deeply emotional role, while Aishwarya Rai played the character of Sofia.
Their emotional chemistry in the film was widely appreciated by critics and audiences, but despite the praise, Guzaarish turned out to be a box office flop. That remains the last time Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai appeared together in a film, and the pair has not reunited for any project since.
