A shocking crime has come to light from Davanagere district in Karnataka, where a 36-year-old laborer was brutally murdered in Pamenahalli village following domestic disputes and an illicit relationship. Police investigations revealed that the victim, Raghu, was killed by his wife Shruthi in collaboration with her lover Ubaidullah and an accomplice named Suresh. The conspiracy was hatched after Raghu uncovered his wife's extra-marital affair. To erase evidence, the perpetrators dumped his body into the Tungabhadra River. Law enforcement officials have arrested all three suspects and initiated a search operation in the river to retrieve the remains.
Domestic Conflict and the Origin of the Illicit Relationship
According to police details, 36-year-old Raghu worked as a manual laborer and suffered from chronic alcohol addiction. He frequently returned home in an inebriated state, subjecting his wife Shruthi to verbal abuse and physical violence. These violent altercations repeatedly unfolded in the presence of their two minor children, causing immense distress to Shruthi. During this troubled period, Shruthi met Ubaidullah, who worked as a gardener at a local hospital. Ubaidullah began providing financial support to Shruthi, which gradually transformed their acquaintance into an extra-marital relationship.
The Murder Plot and Execution on August 11
The situation escalated severely when Raghu became aware of Shruthi's affair with Ubaidullah, leading to frequent and intense confrontations within the household. Viewing Raghu as an obstacle, Shruthi and Ubaidullah formulated a plan to eliminate him. On August 11, following their strategy, Ubaidullah arranged for a friend to invite Raghu to a local liquor shop, where Raghu was encouraged to drink heavily. Once Raghu was completely incapacitated by alcohol, the perpetrators transported him to an isolated location and strangled him to death. Subsequently, Shruthi, Ubaidullah, and Suresh carried the body to the Tungabhadra River and threw it into the water.
Misleading Tactics, Family Suspicion, and Police Arrests
Following the crime, Shruthi attempted to conceal her involvement by pretending to be unaware of her husband's whereabouts. She actively joined Raghu's relatives in searching for him and eventually lodged a missing person report at the local police station. However, her contradictory answers and altered behavior aroused strong suspicion among Raghu's family members, prompting them to file a formal complaint against her. During rigorous police interrogation, Shruthi confessed to the murder. Based on her disclosure, law enforcement officers arrested her lover Ubaidullah and accomplice Suresh, while search teams continue efforts to trace Raghu's body in the Tungabhadra River.
