Festive celebrations at the household of film star Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja caught public attention this Ganesh Chaturthi as the couple observed the rituals at different times. With both making distinct appearances alongside their children, speculation began circulating. However, Sunita stepped forward to clarify the circumstances behind their staggered participation in the festivities.
Festive Welcome and Overseas Travel Commitments
On the eve of the festival, Sunita brought the idol of Lord Ganesha home in the company of her son Yashvardhan and daughter Tina Ahuja, while Govinda was nowhere in sight. Addressing his absence directly, Sunita explained that the actor was in the United States and was scheduled to return to the country late Monday night. She noted with a smile that depending on the fatigue from his long flight, he might visit the deity the next day rather than rushing in, emphasizing that he would naturally arrive as it is his own home.
Upholding a Cherished Family Custom
During her interaction, Sunita reflected on the deep-rooted spiritual legacy maintained by their household over the years. She explained that welcoming Bappa annually was an auspicious tradition originally initiated by her late mother-in-law. Sunita affirmed her resolve to honour and carry forward this sacred familial devotion with utmost dedication for the rest of her life, a sentiment also captured in clips from their residence shared across social media platforms.
Actor Steps Out with Son and Daughter
Later in the celebrations, Govinda made his presence felt as he sought blessings from Ganpati Bappa alongside his two children. Sunita was not seen during this particular outing. The veteran performer appeared relaxed before the waiting media, donning a brown jacket paired with white trousers and spectacles, politely greeting observers with folded hands. Beside him, Yashvardhan opted for an elegant white kurta-pyjama ensemble complemented by red footwear, while Tina looked festive in a vibrant pink salwar suit.
