The cinematic adaptation of the epic Ramayana has unveiled its inaugural musical offering titled Jai Jai Ram, featuring lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. Composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman, the spiritual anthem has been penned by poet and lyricist Dr Kumar Vishwas. Celebrated vocalists Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal have lent their voices to the rendition, which is receiving widespread appreciation across social media platforms.
Blending Heritage Chants With Minimalist Lyricism
Premiering on the festive occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the musical piece immediately catches attention by commencing with the sacred chant Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram, while gradually moving towards familiar refrains of Ram Siya Ram as the arrangement progresses.
Addressing the creative decision to weave these beloved traditional hymns into a brand-new composition, lyricist Kumar Vishwas highlighted that the writing adhered to deliberate simplicity. Vishwas said, 'बतौर लिरिसिस्ट गाने को बहुत ही मिनिमलिस्ट रखा गया है।' The creative team made a conscious effort to exclude Persian and Urdu vocabulary, preserving an authentic linguistic atmosphere suited to the ancient era of the narrative. Straightforward, accessible wording was chosen to bridge ancient spirituality with contemporary listeners, specifically targeting Gen Z audiences to ensure an immediate emotional resonance. Because phrases like Siya Ram and Achyutam Keshav represent some of the most enduring refrains in Indian spiritual music, their inclusion created an instant cultural anchor. This minimalist approach received strong backing from composer AR Rahman and producer Namit Malhotra.
Visual Splendour of Ayodhya and the Divine Union
The visual narrative of the track showcases pivotal moments from the sacred wedding ceremonies of Lord Rama and Sita, interspersed with sequences that illustrate the valour and noble bearing of Rama. The picturisation captures a resplendent procession where the divine couple travels along the streets of Ayodhya aboard an ornate chariot, while jubilant citizens celebrate their union by showering flower petals upon them.
Enormous Production Scale and Release Timeline
Beyond its stellar cast and ambitious visual effects, the film continues to generate widespread attention for its unprecedented financial scale. The ambitious production reportedly carries a massive budget of 4000 crore rupees, positioning it as one of the costliest projects undertaken in Indian cinema. The producers have designed the cinematic saga as a two-part release. The first chapter is scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide during Diwali, followed by the concluding second installment exactly one year later on the subsequent Diwali.
