Following their recent collaboration on 'Bantwara 1947', the duo has officially begun work on a fresh action-centric feature. Their upcoming project has been titled 'Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega', generating significant enthusiasm among movie lovers and action fans.
New Project 'Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega' Announced
In a recent interview, director Rajkumar Santoshi confirmed that he is developing a high-octane action drama featuring Sunny Deol in the lead role. The film bears the title 'Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega', which immediately recalls their 1996 blockbuster hit 'Ghatak'. However, the filmmaker clarified right away that the upcoming movie is not a sequel to the 1996 classic. Instead, it is a completely fresh narrative built around entirely original characters and story arcs.
Santoshi emphasized that the project will resonate deeply with Sunny Deol's core audience, incorporating intense action sequences, powerful dialogues, and strong emotional depth. Furthermore, the director disclosed that he has two to three additional scripts currently in development. Among these is an action drama set in the United States, where Sunny Deol is slated to portray an American Sikh living abroad.
Declining to Direct 'Jaat 2'
Addressing persistent industry rumors, Rajkumar Santoshi clarified his stance regarding 'Jaat 2', the prospective sequel to Sunny Deol's 2025 action venture 'Jaat'. The director confirmed that he is not helm the sequel, stating that he personally refrains from making sequels to existing properties. He explained that his creative focus remains firmly on developing original concepts rather than revisiting established movie franchises or producing remakes.
Upcoming Comedy Venture 'Ada Apni Apni'
Beyond his action lineup, Santoshi is also currently developing a comedy-adventure movie titled 'Ada Apni Apni'. Given its title and genre, many have compared it to his legendary 1994 cult classic comedy 'Andaz Apna Apna'. Clarifying these comparisons, Santoshi stated that 'Ada Apni Apni' features a brand-new storyline while operating within a similar comedic and adventure genre. He added that making a direct sequel to 'Andaz Apna Apna' was never an option because the original narrative was already complete.
