The much-anticipated cinematic adaptation of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has been generating massive excitement among moviegoers who are eagerly waiting to witness a historic on-screen clash between Ranbir Kapoor and South superstar Yash. However, fans looking forward to this epic face-off will need to exercise more patience as the dramatic confrontation scenes between Lord Rama and Ravana have not been filmed yet. Ranbir Kapoor himself revealed this update during a panel appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, confirming that the pivotal face-to-face sequences remain pending.
Why Their Scenes Have Not Been Filmed Yet
Explaining why the two lead actors have not shared screen space so far, Ranbir noted that according to the narrative structure, the direct confrontation between Rama and Ravana happens later in the storyline. Because those specific sequences are scheduled for a later production phase, they have not worked together on set yet. At the same time, Ranbir expressed deep admiration for Yash, stating that he has known him for a long time and genuinely believes that a formidable character like Ravana required an actor with Yash's unique aura, stardom, and perspective.
A Two-Part Franchise With a Cliffhanger Ending
During the global event, director Nitesh Tiwari provided major insights into the structural plan for the project. He emphasized that the makers always intended to build a massive two-part franchise because condensing the vast epic of Ramayana into a single feature film was simply impossible. Tiwari disclosed that the first installment will conclude on a compelling cliffhanger designed to immediately hook audiences and leave them yearning for the second chapter as soon as they step out of the theater.
A Fresh Take on Ravana
Ranbir also heaped high praise on Yash's interpretation of Ravana, promising that the portrayal breaks away from traditional tropes seen in cinema over the years. According to him, Yash has breathed new life into the character, living the role with immense swagger, dignity, and absolute sincerity rather than sticking to conventional depictions.
