Ranbir Kapoor starrer highly anticipated film Ramayana is establishing a formidable grip on the box office well ahead of its theatrical debut. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, this mythological project has generated immense curiosity and excitement among cinema lovers. The grand feature casts Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, and Yash in the role of Ravana. Slated to hit the silver screen on November 5, the advance booking figures for this big-budget venture have emerged, strongly pointing towards a massive opening day. According to media reports, the film has already sold 2.15 lakh tickets across India. Inclusive of block bookings, the movie has managed to rake in 11.81 crore rupees through advance ticket sales, whereas excluding block bookings, the total stands at 9.59 crore rupees. Bookings for the film are currently open across 4,658 screens, with reports of complete sellouts for several specific shows.
Hindi Version Dominates Advance Sales While Kannada Shows Strong Response
When analyzing the advance booking trends, the Hindi version of the film is demonstrating the strongest performance by far. Reports indicate that the Hindi language version has generated 10.16 crore rupees in advance collections across 4,269 shows. This accounts for roughly 86 percent of the film's total domestic advance booking collection. Meanwhile, the Kannada version has secured 1.27 crore rupees from 335 shows, making up about 11 percent of the overall advance earnings. On the other hand, the Telugu version has registered a collection of 37.85.000 rupees from 54 shows. The robust response in the Kannada market is largely attributed to the presence of Yash, who achieved nationwide stardom through the KGF franchise and is portraying Ravana in this adaptation. Concurrently, the pairing of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will bring the divine roles of Lord Rama and Mata Sita to life on the big screen.
IMAX Formats Shine While Maharashtra Leads State-Wise Sales
The contribution of premium screening formats to the advance sales of Ramayana has also been notable. Reports highlight that IMAX screenings alone have contributed 2.74 crore rupees to the advance collections. Notably, despite having a lower share compared to regular assigned shows, this specific format has recorded impressive revenue figures. Looking at the state-wise advance booking breakdown, Maharashtra stands firmly at the top spot, while Delhi occupies the second position. Interestingly, despite the film being declared tax-free in West Bengal, the state finds itself positioned sixth on the report's list. These figures collectively indicate that the movie is receiving widespread support from audiences across diverse geographical regions of the country.
Global Opening Projected to Cross 200 Crores
Alongside domestic momentum, international markets are also displaying profound enthusiasm regarding the advance bookings of Ramayana. According to data provided in reports, the advanced ticket sales in overseas markets have already crossed the 2 million dollar mark, which translates to approximately 18.99 crore rupees in Indian currency. North America leads the international contribution, generating roughly 7.12 crore rupees through advance bookings alone. This figure also incorporates about 5.22 crore rupees attributed to the preview screenings scheduled for November 4. Additionally, advanced sales in the United Kingdom have brought in roughly 85 lakh rupees, while Australia has recorded collections of approximately 57 lakh rupees. Based on existing market trends, industry experts estimate that the film could easily pull in over 110 crore rupees on its opening day in India alone. This projection includes an estimated 80 crore rupees from the Hindi version, which accounts for the paid previews scheduled for the evening of November 4. The film's estimated domestic gross collection is pegged at around 132 crore rupees.
Overseas markets are anticipated to contribute around 7 million dollars, translating to roughly 66.46 crore rupees on day one. Combining these domestic and international projections, the worldwide opening collection of the movie is expected to easily exceed 200 crore rupees. However, industry analysts emphasize that these figures remain projections rather than final earnings. The actual box office performance will ultimately be determined by ticket sales closer to the release date and the ground-level response from audiences.
