Actor and filmmaker Sohail Khan, currently seen on the reality show 'Alliance', shared an emotional account about his father, veteran writer Salim Khan's health, leaving everyone on set visibly moved during a recent episode.
Sohail opened up about the ordeal while speaking with his co-contestant Delbar Arya, recalling the episode publicly for the first time with rare openness.
The frightening month of February
Sohail revealed that Salim Khan suffered a brain hemorrhage in February this year. Following the incident, he had to remain hospitalised for close to a month. It was a period during which the entire Khan family was gripped by deep anxiety and fear, since no one knew which way things would go.
When doctors said they might not save him
Sohail disclosed that during that difficult time, doctors had clearly told the family that they might not be able to save Salim Khan. Hearing this left Sohail feeling like the ground had slipped from under his feet. For him, that moment was far more frightening than any other piece of bad news could have been.
Spending time with parents became his biggest priority
Sohail said he spends most of his time with his parents because, for him, there is no gift bigger than time itself. He said, my kids are still young. They have their whole lives ahead of them. But my parents are now elderly, so I want to spend as much time as possible with them. But when the doctor said at that time that we might not be able to save Salim Khan, hearing that made the ground slip from under my feet.
Sohail broke down thinking, 'what will we do without him'
Continuing his account, Sohail said, at that time I was just thinking about what we would do without him. I couldn't even put into words how I would cope if something happened to my father. My parents are my entire world. Sohail's words moved everyone present on the show. He further said that every moment spent with parents is extremely precious and that he never takes their presence for granted.
Salman Khan cheers on his brother
On Saturday, Salman Khan also lent support to his younger brother Sohail. He shared the show's promo on his Instagram story, writing 'Best Wishes Brother' and tagging Sohail. Salman's brief message also caught fans' attention.
