Revealing the current status of the production, director SS Rajamouli stated that the grand-scale action sequences designed specifically for IMAX screens have now been successfully wrapped up. He assured that the shooting schedule is progressing exactly as planned. According to the filmmaker, the team has already finished filming the most critical portions of the movie. Currently, they are focusing on capturing smaller, transitional scenes that connect the narrative. The director expressed confidence that the entire shooting process for Varanasi is on track to be completed by September or October of this year.

When discussing the decision to shoot in IMAX, Rajamouli clarified that utilizing this premium format did not alter his creative vision. He explained that from the very beginning, he was fully aware that the massive action sequences he had conceptualized could only be properly brought to life on the giant IMAX canvas. Consequently, the team did not have to make any adjustments or compromises in their storytelling style simply to fit the technical format; rather, the format naturally matched the scale of the screenplay.
