She had been dealing with age-related health complications for some time. Although she had spent decades perfecting her craft in theatre, wider mainstream cinematic recognition arrived in 2018 with the critically acclaimed film ‘Sudani from Nigeria’. Her portrayal of Jameela struck an emotional chord with audiences and reviewers alike. Her effortless mannerisms and deeply empathetic dialogue delivery earned her widespread praise.
