Kannada film star Yash is making waves ahead of the theatrical release of his upcoming movie Toxic, scheduled for August 26, 2026. Following the release of the track Tabahi, the actor faced intense social media trolling over his intimate sequences alongside co-star Kiara Advani. Critics went so far as to label the romantic scenes reminiscent of a condom commercial. Breaking his silence on the backlash, the actor delivered a sharp and humorous response during a recent interview appearance.
Responding to Condom Commercial Comparisons
While appearing on the popular television show Aap Ki Adalat, Yash was asked whether he takes internet trolling seriously, specifically addressing comments that compared the scenes in Toxic to condom advertisements. Taking the question with a smile, Yash remarked, "If I have to do a condom ad, I will take money for it, I won't do it for free." His candid reaction effectively turned the tables on critics, earning praise from fans online for his composure.
Setting Boundaries Between Artistry and Vulgarity
Addressing the controversy surrounding the bold sequences in the film, Yash clarified that the team maintained artistic discipline without crossing line into vulgarity. He emphasized that vulgarity in cinema is unacceptable, pointing out that if viewers observe closely, he has not even performed a kissing scene in the project. Yash explained that such moments are filmed with high aesthetic care and creative sensitivity, representing the artistic vision of the director that needs to be understood in its proper cinematic context.
Reflecting the Perspective of Gen Z
Expanding on the thematic depth of Toxic, Yash shared that the narrative is explicitly crafted for Gen Z. According to him, the film mirrors the mindset, emotional turmoil, and evolving worldviews of today's young generation. It seeks to answer why contemporary youth frequently challenge established societal norms and push back against traditional constraints, making it a relevant story for modern audiences.
Star-Studded Cast and CBFC Certification
Jointly produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic features a stellar ensemble cast alongside Yash, including Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, and Sanjeeda Sheikh. The Central Board of Film Certification has granted the movie an A certificate. Designed as a wide multi-lingual release, the film will hit cinemas on August 26, 2026 across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, English, and other regional languages.
