A major milestone for agricultural and rural development was marked in Madanapalle on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman jointly laid the foundation stone for the Indian School of Agriculture. Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani was present at the event and announced a substantial financial commitment to drive economic growth in the region.
Massive Investment Announcement for the State
Addressing the gathering, Anant Ambani highlighted his bond with the region and pledged an investment of one lakh crore rupees. This capital will be primarily directed toward compressed biogas projects across the state. The occasion also marked the laying of the foundation for the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub. The initiative aims to boost farmers' income and generate fresh employment opportunities for local youth, transforming the region into a prominent center for modern farming.
Empowering Farmers Through Advanced Technology
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu introduced Anant Ambani during the ceremony, warmly calling him a beloved son of the state. In response, Anant Ambani stated that people should consider him a son and issue orders on what he can do for the state. He recalled that two decades ago the Chief Minister established the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, and is now bringing the agricultural school for farmers. He expressed confidence that the new institution will empower cultivators by equipping them with skills, utilizing drones, robotics, and artificial intelligence to simplify farming operations.
Transforming Employment and Energy Sectors
Under this large-scale initiative by Reliance, efforts will focus on four key areas. Virtual classrooms will be set up in villages to impart modern agricultural training, while Jio Krishi will deliver technology directly to the fields. Additionally, animal husbandry will be promoted using the experience of the Vantara veterinary university, and compressed biogas projects are expected to generate three lakh jobs in the state. Ambani noted that the farmer who feeds the nation will now also become a provider of energy.
