Power distribution utilities in the national capital have rolled out a dedicated Tatkal initiative to deliver temporary electricity connections within 24 hours throughout the festive period. This fast-track service is designed to support organizers managing events such as Durga Puja celebrations, Ramlila stagings, Diwali fairs, and upcoming weddings across Delhi, ensuring they secure legitimate power supplies without operational delays.
BSES Introduces Same-Day Temporary Power Supply Scheme
BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), which cater to major sections of Delhi, are gearing up to keep the city lit during festival events. A BSES spokesperson stated that this specialized temporary connection system is structured to provide electricity on the very same day for public functions, religious gatherings, and marriage ceremonies, provided that all required documentation is complete and the setup is deemed technically feasible.
Online Portals and Customer Care Centers Enabled for Applications
To streamline access for event committees and households, discoms have established multiple application touchpoints. The BSES spokesperson highlighted that consumers can register their requests using the discom's official mobile application, corporate website, or by visiting nearby customer care centers in person. Payments for these temporary connections can also be processed entirely online, enabling the utility to activate the power connection within 24 hours once procedural and technical verifications pass inspection.
Single Window Counter at District Magistrate Offices
Event organizers can also take advantage of institutional channels set up by the administration. Temporary connection requests can be submitted through the single-window clearance desks situated within Delhi Government District Magistrate (DM) offices. This setup allows organizers seeking official permits for large gatherings to coordinate their power infrastructure needs in tandem with other event permissions, saving substantial administrative overhead.
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited Mobilizes Rapid Deployment
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) has similarly finalized measures to deliver rapid temporary power connections across its distribution network. A TPDDL spokesperson stated that the utility is fully equipped to provide Tatkal electricity connections within 24 hours to organizers of Ramlila, Durga Puja, and seasonal festivals. Applicants within TPDDL zones can initiate the process by accessing the utility's official website or by visiting the nearest TPDDL customer care center, with all service charges payable through digital payment channels.
