A crucial update has emerged for cooking gas consumers regarding the LPG gas cylinder e-KYC process. The deadline to complete the mandatory verification has been extended, and it is now likely to end on September 7, 2026. Oil marketing companies have directed all LPG users to finish this biometric Aadhaar authentication protocol to avoid any disruptions or difficulties in receiving LPG services and subsidies.
Purpose And Background Of LPG Biometric Verification
The primary objective of the LPG biometric verification is to verify the identity of users and ensure they are genuine beneficiaries of LPG subsidy benefits. This authentication is executed primarily through face recognition technology. According to available details, this latest extension marks the fourth revision of the LPG e-KYC deadline in less than two months. Initially, the deadline was set for August 16, which was subsequently extended to August 23 and further pushed to August 31, before being extended by another week to the current date.
Guidelines For Indane Gas Customers
Indian Oil recently stated that customers with pending eKYC must complete it immediately. Over 12 crore Indane customers have already successfully finished their verification, with approximately 2 lakh more joining the drive daily. Consumers can complete this free and simple procedure within minutes through the IndianOil ONE app, via their local delivery personnel, or by visiting their nearest distributorship. Those who have already completed their eKYC do not need to repeat the process. Customers can download the application or reach out via the toll-free number 1800 2333 555 for assistance.
Steps To Complete E-KYC Via IndianOil ONE App
First, install the IndianOil ONE application on your mobile device. Open the app and log in or register using your specific LPG connection details. Inside the application, search for the eKYC or Aadhaar Authentication option. Enter and confirm your Aadhaar details as prompted by the system. Next, install or open Aadhaar FaceRD when requested by the application. Complete the face authentication process by following the simple instructions displayed on your screen. Once the authentication finishes successfully, visit your LPG account dashboard to confirm that the eKYC and Aadhaar authentication status is updated.
Procedure For Bharat Gas Users
If you are a consumer registered under Bharat Gas, begin by installing the Hello BPCL mobile app. Log into the application using your valid Bharat Gas connection credentials. Navigate through the Hello BPCL interface to locate the eKYC or Aadhaar authentication option and select it. Enter and verify the requested Aadhaar information carefully. To proceed with the Bharat Gas e-KYC, having Aadhaar FaceRD installed on your phone for face scanning is mandatory. Provide your consent and complete the face scan. Once the scan is successful, wait for the confirmation message and check your updated LPG account status.
Instructions For HP Gas Consumers
HP Gas customers are required to download the HP Pay mobile application to complete their verification. Log in using your HP Gas and domestic LPG consumer details. Locate the eKYC or Aadhaar Authentication option within the menu. Follow the on-screen prompts and give your approval for the Aadhaar authentication process. If the application prompts you to install Aadhaar FaceRD, proceed with the installation to finish the requirement. Once installed, you will be redirected to a screen where your face will be scanned. Receive the authentication confirmation signal and verify your e-KYC status directly on the app.
Consequences Of Missing The Verification Deadline
Current guidelines indicate that LPG users who fail to meet the extended deadline will not receive LPG cylinders at subsidized rates. Furthermore, direct benefit transfers under the PMUY scheme will be paused until the e-KYC process is successfully completed. Another major impact is that non-PMUY customers who fail to complete their verification will likely have to purchase domestic LPG cylinders at commercial market rates. Additionally, temporary service suspensions across Indane Gas, HP Gas, and Bharat Gas connections remain a distinct possibility for unverified accounts.
