Building on these initiatives, the Uttar Pradesh agriculture department has rolled out a special program for local cultivators. Farmers will no longer need to buy expensive pesticides and weedicides from outside markets to control crop diseases, harmful insects, and weeds. Through a subsidy aid source, the department is supplying diverse categories of crop protection chemicals at subsidized rates. When growers purchase these protective remedies through official departmental channels instead of open markets, it substantially cuts down their input costs, directly reflecting in improved earnings.
Shiv Shankar Verma, the in-charge officer at the Government Agriculture Center in Shivgarh, Raebareli district, explained that the Uttar Pradesh agriculture department is delivering affordable and high-quality crop protection chemicals via subsidy aid sources. These products are being made available to cultivators at much lower prices compared to outside retail shops. He emphasized that the primary objective of this program is to provide financial relief to farmers, helping double their incomes while ensuring they secure effective crop protection solutions at minimal expenses.
Availability of Pesticides at 50 Percent Subsidy
Shiv Shankar Verma noted that various types of pesticides are readily accessible to cultivators at the government center with a 50 percent subsidy. To avail of this benefit, registration with the agriculture department is mandatory for every farmer. Additionally, individuals must bring their Aadhaar card and farmer registration number along with them when visiting the center to claim the subsidy.
Essential Crop Medicines Available at Government Centers
Elaborating further, he stated that weedicides, fungicides, plant growth regulators (PGR), and several other necessary formulations are stocked at the government agricultural center. Farmers who require any sort of crop protection chemicals can reach out to their nearest government agriculture center to benefit from this scheme.
