Babar Azam's jump in the rankings comes on the back of consistent run-scoring across both Test matches against the West Indies. In the first Test, he registered scores of 23 in the first innings and an undefeated 58 in the second innings. He carried that momentum into the second Test, scoring 88 runs in the first innings and remaining unbeaten on 23 in the second innings. After dropping the opening match of the series, Pakistan bounced back to win the second Test and level the series 1-1. Those two half-centuries lifted Babar's rating to 716 points, engineering his five-place climb into the top ten.
