Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India, widely recognized as the wealthiest cricket administration globally, has bolstered its financial reserves through a fresh commercial agreement. Under this latest arrangement, the board will earn 3.71 crore rupees for every match the Indian team plays on home soil. The cricket body has successfully onboarded three new associate partners for its upcoming bilateral home series, a move set to substantially increase revenues over the coming years.
Agreement timeline and total match allocation through March 2028
Based on available details, this commercial partnership has been locked in for a total of 35 domestic fixtures and will remain active through March 2028. Following this arrangement, whenever the national team steps onto home grounds for an international fixture, the names and brand visibility of these three partner companies will be prominently displayed around the venues, offering them extensive consumer outreach.
Individual company bids and per-match revenue breakdown
Different entities placed their respective financial bids under this arrangement, with Reliance-owned soft drink brand Campa Cola placing the highest bid of approximately 1.31 crore rupees per match. Additionally, prominent life insurance provider SBI Life and artificial intelligence chatbot venture ChatGPT have committed around 1.20 crore rupees each per match. Combined together, the board stands to earn roughly 3.71 crore rupees per home fixture, which translates to a cumulative valuation of about 129.85 crore rupees across the 35 matches.
Search for a title sponsor remains ongoing
Reflecting on the broader timeline of this tender process, the board had invited bids back in July for both international fixtures and domestic tournaments like the Ranji Trophy, seeking title sponsors and associate partner rights. The initial deadline for submitting bids for the title sponsor was set for August 13, while quotations for associate partners had a deadline of August 25. Later, because a primary title sponsor had not yet been finalized by that juncture, the administration extended the deadline for associate partners to September 7.
