Dehradun Warriors produced a comprehensive all-round display to clinch the third season of the Uttarakhand Premier League 2026, defeating Haridwar Almas by 36 runs in the final clash held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The triumph marked the culmination of an authoritative campaign for the Warriors, who had earlier finished at the pinnacle of the points table after registering four victories from their six league fixtures on the back of an impressive net run rate. Carrying forward that dominating rhythm into the title clash, the squad applied relentless pressure from the outset to finish as champions.
Captain Kunal Chandela and Mohammad Uzair Malik Anchor the Innings
Action commenced with Dehradun Warriors skipper Kunal Chandela winning the toss and electing to set a target. The decision was put to an immediate test when the top order stumbled early, losing two wickets with just 22 runs on the board. Undeterred by the early setbacks, Chandela took control of the innings with a counter-attacking approach. Leading from the front, the captain hammered a sensational 90 runs off only 51 deliveries, shifting the momentum entirely in his team's favor.
Chandela found reliable support at the crease from Mohammad Uzair Malik, who batted with great composure and fluency. Malik compiled a solid 64 runs from 46 balls, allowing the partnership to flourish and keeping the scoring rate brisk through the middle overs. The commanding alliance between the two batters propelled Dehradun Warriors to an imposing total of 197 runs in their allotted 20 overs, leaving Haridwar Almas with a daunting task ahead.
Aditya Rawat's Precision Dismantles Haridwar Almas in the Chase
Tasked with chasing a steep target of 198 runs, Haridwar Almas suffered an early blow right on the third ball of the opening over. That early breakthrough destabilized the pursuit, triggering a steady collapse as wickets fell in quick succession against disciplined lines. Haridwar Almas found themselves in deep trouble at 68 for 5, with half of their batting lineup back in the pavilion before the halfway stage of the chase.
Haridwar Almas never recovered from the sustained onslaught and were eventually bowled out for 161 runs in 19.4 overs. The architect of the Warriors' defensive masterclass with the ball was Aditya Rawat, who finished with remarkable bowling figures of 4 wickets for just 19 runs across his 3.4 overs. Rawat was well supported by Abhishek Singh and Sumit Juyal, both of whom claimed 2 wickets apiece, securing a thoroughly deserved 36-run championship victory for Dehradun Warriors.
