Detailing the venue selection, Debajit Saikia highlighted that the previous three IPL player auctions had been taken abroad to international destinations. The last three editions were staged across Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Following those overseas stops in the Middle East, the governing body decided to bring the marquee event back within national borders, finalizing Goa as the chosen host location for the December proceedings. Saikia confirmed that after holding the event in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, the board is scheduled to conduct the auction in Goa this winter.
Inclement Weather in Dharamshala Prompts Relocation to Mohali
Alongside the tournament updates, Saikia shared critical administrative developments concerning the bilateral women's cricket calendar involving the India A women's squad and the Australia A women's squad. He confirmed that persistent rainfall and adverse weather patterns in Dharamshala compelled officials to relocate the scheduled T20 fixtures to Mohali in Punjab. The decision was taken to safeguard player safety and maintain the competitive integrity of the tour.
Elaborating on the logistical move, Saikia stated that the ongoing climatic conditions in Dharamshala were entirely unsuited for holding top-flight cricket encounters. Heavy and continuous downpours severely hampered outfield preparation, making normal play impossible. To prevent disruptive delays and ensure that sporting activities proceeded smoothly without weather-induced interruptions, the cricket board determined that shifting the matches to Mohali was the most practical course of action.
