The second match of the five-match T20 series between India and England is being played at Old Trafford in Manchester, and India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first.
India have handed a game to Vaibhav Suryavanshi in this match, making him the youngest player to make his international debut for India. Vaibhav has been included in the playing XI in place of Sanju Samson. On England's side, Josh Tongue is making his debut in this match.
What Shreyas Iyer said at the toss
At the toss, Shreyas Iyer said India would bat first and confirmed the lone change to the side, with Vaibhav coming in for Sanju. Speaking about Vaibhav, Iyer said everyone has seen over the last few months how well he has been batting, and that he genuinely deserves a place in this team. He described Vaibhav as a player who does not feel any pressure at all, someone fearless by nature who is well aware of the challenges he will face in the matches ahead. Iyer added that the way Vaibhav bats in the nets and takes on the bowlers shows exactly what calibre of player he is.

England's playing eleven: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Harry Brook (captain), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Josh Tongue.
Iyer still searching for his first win as captain
This is only Shreyas Iyer's second T20 series as captain. Under his leadership earlier, India lost a two-match T20 series to Ireland. His start as captain has not been a happy one, since India are yet to win even a single match under him. Because of that, Iyer is eagerly waiting for his first victory as captain. It is also worth noting that the opening T20 of this series against England had to be called off because of rain.
