This targeted action was not a routine verification drive, but a specific component of Delhi Police Operation Vista 1.0, designed exclusively to audit the visa status of foreign nationals and check the legality of their stay within the country. During this extensive campaign, two foreign nationals from Bangladesh were flagged and intercepted by local authorities after their documentation raised serious compliance concerns.
Hotel Raids Uncover Overstaying Foreign Nationals
According to official details, the investigation team initially inspected a hotel located on Arakasan Road in Nabi Karim, where they encountered 25-year-old Zomir Hossain, a native of Bangladesh. A detailed review of his travel documents revealed that he had arrived in India on 9 July 2026. Following this initial check, the police squad moved to a second lodging establishment situated in the Chandiwalan Main Bazaar area of Paharganj, where they intercepted 39-year-old Maksudha Akhter, who hails from Dhaka.
Visa Terms Violated by Both Individuals
Records indicated that Maksudha Akhter had entered the country on 27 July 2026. Verification of the passports and visas belonging to both individuals showed that they had traveled to India on double-entry visas. Under the mandatory stipulations governing these visas, visitors are permitted to stay in India for a maximum duration of 15 days during each individual trip. However, a careful cross-referencing of travel dates and physical documentation established conclusively that both individuals had overstayed their legally allotted timeframe by significant margins.
Official Oversight and Regulatory Intervention
The entire operation was executed under the direct leadership of Inspector Sandeep Yadav and under the close supervision of ACP Operations Padam Singh Rana. After conducting preliminary questioning and verifying their paperwork, the police team presented both individuals before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for further statutory processing. Following a thorough review of the case, the FRRO formally issued restriction orders against the duo.
Transfer to Detention Facility Pending Deportation
Following the issuance of these orders, Zomir Hossain and Maksudha Akhter were transferred to the Sewa Dham Detention Centre located in Sarai Rohilla. Both individuals will remain housed at the facility until all formal legal procedures pertaining to their deportation to their home country are successfully concluded.
