In a tragic incident that unfolded late at night, 54-year-old Jayabalkrishnan was heading back home on his scooter after closing down his small shop and wrapping up a long day of work. Little did he know that a speeding Mercedes approaching from behind would cut his life short in a fraction of a second. The vehicle was moving at such an uncontrollable speed that the collision instantly shattered the scooter into pieces, scattering debris across the road. Behind the wheel of this fatal ride was not a mature or experienced driver, but rather a 17-year-old minor son of a judge, driving without a license and completely lacking road sense.
Legal loopholes and VIP treatment allegations
What shocked onlookers even further was that despite the severity of the crash, the minor driver managed to secure immediate bail under juvenile justice provisions, although police registered a case under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita for death by negligence. The grieving family alleged that when they confronted the judge at the police station to ask why the vehicle was handed over to a minor, they were subjected to arrogance and poor behavior instead of sympathy. The family has now resolved to fight a relentless battle for justice.
Government response and strict warnings
As the controversy escalated, Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala made it clear that everyone stands equal before the law. He asserted that running someone over on the road with a vehicle is no less than murder and promised that no matter how powerful someone might be, nobody will be spared. Public attention is now focused on whether action will finally be taken against the actual owner of the luxury car.
