A massive fire broke out in Gaffar Market located in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi, creating panic and chaos in the bustling commercial locality. Upon receiving information about the severe blaze, the fire department sprang into action immediately to launch rescue and relief operations. To bring the situation under control, a total of 22 fire engines have been rushed to the spot where personnel are continuously working to douse the flames.
Preliminary Investigation Into The Cause
According to findings from the initial investigation into the incident, the fire broke out suddenly due to the overheating or overcharging of a battery inside a shop. The battery reportedly grew excessively hot or overcharged, triggering sudden sparks that rapidly transformed into a fierce blaze. The fire spread with alarming speed, engulfing surrounding areas within a short span of time.
How The Fire Spread Across The Building
The dangerous fire originated at a shop situated on the ground floor of the building. Because the starting point was on the lower level, the flames and thick smoke surged upward very quickly, causing the entire building to fall into the grip of the fire. The rapid vertical spread of the flames made the situation significantly more hazardous for everyone in the vicinity.
Apprehension Of Massive Financial Loss
Based on preliminary details emerging from the scene, the destructive rampage of this fire has caused financial losses running into lakhs and crores of rupees. Goods, inventory, and assets belonging to businesses are feared to have been gutted by the raging inferno. At present, the primary focus of emergency workers remains on extinguishing the fire completely and securing the area.
