Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav is facing fresh legal trouble as a court in Mhow has ordered his arrest. Known widely for his comedic roles, the actor has found himself embroiled in controversies over recent times, having spent time in Tihar Jail earlier this year. He had previously borrowed 5 crore rupees from a businessman to produce a film but failed to repay the amount, keeping him on bail. Now, a separate financial dispute has resulted in further judicial action against him.
Why Was the Arrest Warrant Issued?
The arrest warrant was issued by Judicial Magistrate Farhan M. Qureshi after the actor repeatedly failed to appear for scheduled court hearings. The Mhow court has specifically directed the Mumbai Police to take Rajpal Yadav into custody and produce him before the bench prior to the next hearing. This latest warrant stems from a dispute involving a bounced check worth 25 lakh rupees.
Details of the Financial Dispute
The case was filed in court by Mhow-based film financier Prakash Jaju. According to the details, Rajpal Yadav had borrowed 25 lakh rupees from Prakash Jaju. When the financier asked for the funds to be returned, the actor issued post-dated checks. However, when Prakash Jaju deposited the checks into the bank, the funds were not credited to his account, causing the checks to bounce. Consequently, the financier approached the Mhow court to initiate legal proceedings.
