Addressing a massive gathering at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha, Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi's completion of 25 years in public service across his tenures as Chief Minister and Prime Minister with a spirited new slogan. Welcoming the gathering, he urged everyone present to honor the Prime Minister with a loud collective chant, raising the slogan hailing Modi alongside greetings of Jai Shri Ram. The packed stadium immediately echoed with enthusiastic replies of Jai Shri Ram, followed by loud chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and slogans praising the Bharatiya Janata Party.
A Direct Public Mandate as the First Declared Prime Ministerial Face
Reflecting on India's political trajectory, Nitin Nabin stated that Narendra Modi stands out as the nation's first Prime Minister who was presented to voters as a pre-declared candidate before the polls took place. He noted that in earlier electoral contests across decades, citizens voted broadly for a political party or coalition, while the eventual occupant of the Prime Minister's post was decided only after the counting of votes had concluded through internal party discussions.
He emphasized that the national elections in 2014 altered that conventional dynamic entirely. For the first time in an Indian general election, a political party placed a defined leadership face before the entire electorate well in advance. The voting public responded with immense grassroots support, validating that choice directly through the ballot box and electing Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister based on a nationwide mandate rather than backroom deliberations.
Political Dynasties Contrasted with Grassroots Struggles
Contrasting this journey with earlier administrations, Nitin Nabin highlighted historical instances from the Congress party. He observed that following Independence, Jawaharlal Nehru was chosen as the country's first Prime Minister by the leaders within the Congress party. Similarly, Indira Gandhi assumed the Prime Ministerial office for the first time through selection by party stalwarts rather than prior direct proclamation before voters.
The BJP chief added that Rajiv Gandhi also became Prime Minister after the demise of his mother upon being chosen by his own party, subsequently seeking a popular electoral mandate later on. In sharp contrast, Narendra Modi hails from neither a political dynasty nor an inherited power base. He built his journey entirely through sustained struggles, earning the distinction of reaching the highest executive office purely on the strength of his personal perseverance and public dedication.
Twenty-Five Years of Dedication and Milestones in Women-Led Development
Speaking on the milestone of completing a quarter of a century in continuous public office, Nitin Nabin described the occasion as unforgettable for every citizen and party worker. He commended the Prime Minister for viewing governance solely as an instrument of national service, transforming power into an avenue for welfare rather than privilege, and steadily overcoming challenges through persistent discipline and purpose.
Conveying best wishes on behalf of 140 crore Indians and millions of party workers, Nitin Nabin paid tribute to major welfare milestones, specifically initiatives aimed at dignity and protection for women, ranging from sanitation toilet construction to the Ujjwala scheme. He also greeted the nation's 16 crore Lakhpati Didis, asserting that the administration moved beyond conventional welfare rhetoric to establish a transformative precedent centered on women-led development across the country.
