A shocking incident bringing embarrassment to the public education system has surfaced from Undri village, located within the Meenon Ka Nayagaon Gram Panchayat of the Savar sub-division in Ajmer district, Rajasthan. Bhima Ram, the acting headmaster deployed at the local Government Upper Primary School, arrived at the institution heavily intoxicated during official school hours. The extent of his drunkenness was so severe that instead of attending classrooms and teaching the students, he collapsed unconscious onto the grass inside the school playground. Seeing the school administrator lying passed out on the premises ignited immense anger and outrage among parents and local villagers.
Acting Headmaster Found Unconscious on School Ground
As news of the incident spread across the village during school hours, the President of the School Development Committee (SMC) alongside numerous local residents promptly gathered at the school campus. Upon witnessing acting headmaster Bhima Ram lying unconscious on the open playground grass, the villagers attempted to wake him up. People present at the scene lifted the teacher from the ground and splashed water over his face and head in an effort to restore his consciousness. However, due to extreme alcohol consumption, Bhima Ram failed to regain awareness and remained completely unresponsive. Villagers pointed out that such irresponsible behavior by an individual holding a key administrative position poses a direct threat to the safety and academic progression of young children attending the primary school.
Villagers Raise Serious Concerns Over Student Safety and Education
Deeply angered by the severe negligence and disgraceful conduct displayed by the acting headmaster within the school premises, the villagers immediately alerted the office of the Savar Chief Block Education Officer (CBEO). Expressing their grave concerns to education department officials, the residents emphasized that having the primary authority of an educational institution report to work in an intoxicated state during school hours is extremely irresponsible. They highlighted that such actions not only jeopardize the academic future of innocent students but also spoil the overall educational environment of the school. The villagers firmly demanded the immediate removal of the intoxicated acting headmaster from his post, alongside strict disciplinary action against him under service rules.
Education Department Orders Inquiry by Two-Principal Committee
Recognizing the severity of the matter and the intense public outrage, the education department swiftly initiated administrative action. Additional Block Education Officer (ABEO) Ganpat Lal Meena confirmed receiving both written and verbal complaints regarding the teacher arriving at the Government Upper Primary School in Undri under the influence of alcohol. He stated that to ensure an impartial and transparent probe, the department has constituted a joint inquiry committee comprising two school principals. The investigation panel includes the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Meenon Ka Nayagaon and the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Para. ABEO Ganpat Lal Meena assured that as soon as the inquiry committee submits its detailed report, it will be forwarded to higher officials, and stringent departmental action will be executed against the guilty teacher in accordance with regulations.
