Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay felicitated high-performing Class 10 and Class 12 students at an event organised in Chennai, presenting a gold necklace to the state topper of Class 12. Families and students had gathered at the venue from the early morning hours, visibly enthusiastic about interacting with the Chief Minister and receiving recognition for their academic hard work.
State Rank Holders Share Their Joy
The felicitation highlighted stellar academic marks achieved across districts. Class 12 student Monika from Tiruvannamalai, who secured 566 marks out of a total of 600, described receiving the honour directly from the Chief Minister as an unforgettable moment that would serve to inspire future batches of young learners. Similarly, Class 10 achiever Srinidhi from Cuddalore, who registered 494 marks out of 500, expressed deep pride, remarking that being awarded by the newly elected Chief Minister represented a tremendous distinction both for her family and for her school.
First Phase of TVK Education Awards
The ceremony marked the rollout of the initial phase of the TVK education awards. During the proceedings, Chief Minister Vijay personally presented certificates of excellence along with financial incentives to the meritorious candidates. The initiative aims to recognise dedication in secondary and higher secondary education, offering both financial backing and formal acknowledgement to students who excelled in their respective board examinations.
Guidance on Resilience and Avoiding Vices
Reflecting on his personal path from the world of cinema into governance and state leadership, Vijay shared that advancing student welfare formed a primary motivation behind his entry into public life. He encouraged the audience to remember that parents, society, and the wider state hold substantial aspirations for their future. Addressing life obstacles, he advised students not to be deterred by difficulties, adding that hurdles often indicate that one is close to genuine achievement. Crucially, he urged young people to remain disciplined, avoid destructive habits, and maintain a strict distance from corruption and drugs.
Focusing on Education Over Party Politics
Addressing the students directly, Vijay clarified that his presence at the venue was not intended for political maneuvering, soliciting votes, or discussing partisan agendas. He emphasised that young students have no immediate requirement to engage with party politics at this stage of life. Instead, he counselled them to devote their energy entirely toward studying diligently, accomplishing significant academic milestones, and securing their individual futures, noting that thoughts of wider social contributions and serving Tamil Nadu can follow once their foundational goals are achieved.
