Former television star Aman Verma may not be seen on screen as often these days, but he continues to share his views openly on issues in the entertainment world. He recently attended the 'Mrs and Miss India Empress of the Nation' event, where he spoke to the media and described the Diva pageant as an excellent platform for women to showcase their talent.
Associated with the pageant for nearly 11 years
Aman Verma said he has been associated with the pageant for roughly the past 10 to 11 years, and every edition has been a special experience for him. He said the event brings together women from different fields so they can openly display the talent hidden within them. According to him, the Diva pageant has now completed close to 11 to 12 years, and he has been part of it since the very beginning, which is why he is eagerly looking forward to the next edition as well.
'There should be no age limit,' says Aman Verma
During the conversation, Aman Verma also spoke openly about the age limit at the Diva pageant. He said there should be no restriction on age in the contest, because once a person decides they want to achieve something in life, age becomes just a number. He gave the example of a contestant at this edition who is 67 years old and still walked onto the stage with complete confidence at that age. Aman Verma believes this trend will only grow in the coming years, and soon women around 70 years of age will also be seen on such stages.
'Even big names fail to answer,' actor lauds contestants
Aman Verma said every contestant needs beauty along with confidence, capability, the ability to give the right answer and overall understanding, because the real test comes when a question is put to them on stage. Speaking about this, he said, "I have seen that even big people cannot answer." He added that every woman present at this edition was educated and rich in talent. According to Aman Verma, the confidence they showed at this age comes from the fact that women generally get fewer opportunities to speak and voice their opinions, while men keep talking all the time. He made it clear that every woman at the event performed exceptionally well and proved her ability.
