Prominent pan India production banner Mythri Movie Makers is stepping directly into the horror territory with its much anticipated feature film 418. Designed as an intense horror thriller, the project aims to deliver an immersive cinematic experience driven by suspense, supernatural dread, and psychological unrest. Noted filmmaker Prashanth Neel is presenting the film, while writer and filmmaker Kirthan Naggowda makes his directorial debut with the project, having penned the original story himself.
The production is bankrolled by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar. The ensemble cast features Chaitra Achar, Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju, Preethi Pagadala, and Shashank Patil in key roles. Building up anticipation across different regions, the makers have now officially launched the Hindi trailer of the movie.
The Dark Secrets of Room Number 418 and the VIMS Building
The trailer opens on an eerie note with a security guard stating that no creature, not even a bird, has ever stepped into the dreaded property. This opening sequence immediately establishes the foreboding tone and sets up the supernatural mystery that underpins the entire premise. The plot centers around an 18-year-old youth named Vivek, who finds himself deeply torn between actual reality and personal hallucinations.
The narrative intensifies when authorities decide to reopen the VIMS building, a facility that has remained abandoned and locked for 15 years. Despite strong objections and protests from local residents, the premises are unsealed. Inside this structure lies room number 418, a specific chamber that harbors a terrifying and unexplained past that threatens anyone who crosses its threshold.
Pure Horror and Supernatural Tension Without Comedy Tropes
In its initial stretch, the trailer presents itself almost like a psychological thriller, focusing closely on the young protagonist struggling inside his own fragile mental landscape. However, as the narrative progresses, the overt horror elements take center stage. The latter half of the preview shifts rapidly into pure supernatural terror, delivering high-tension sequences that escalate in intensity with every passing frame.
Director Kirthan Naggowda has intentionally maintained a serious and grounded tone throughout the storytelling. The trailer steers clear of lighthearted horror comedy tropes or unnecessary commercial diversions, preserving a consistently grim and unsettling atmosphere that places pure dread at the forefront of the viewer experience.
Chaitra Achar's Haunting Performance and Technical Craft
A standout element in the footage is the impactful appearance of actress Chaitra Achar. Her entry in the second half of the trailer dramatically alters the energy of the film, as her chilling screen presence, eerie physical expressions, and striking appearance inject immediate fear into the sequence. The preview also provides glimpses of Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju, Preethi Pagadala, and Shashank Patil playing crucial parts in the unfolding drama.
The technical aspects of the film significantly enhance the suspense. Cinematographer Dinesh Diwakar employs atmospheric camera angles and moody visuals that accentuate the mystery of the closed facility. Meanwhile, the background score composed by Venky GG elevates the tension and amplifies the impact of each supernatural reveal. Overall, the Hindi trailer of 418 presents an intriguing combination of performance, visuals, and uncompromised horror.
